What a killer duo. Love them. This is a great find. They remind me an interview I heard with Ry Cooder back in the 1980s. He imagined his ideal "house band," playing in a small Latin America hotel, a tropical breeze lilting through the windows. Years later, he produced one of my favorite records of his (and one of his least known, it seems): a collaboration with Manuel Galbán, called Mambo Sinuendo. This band may come closer than anyone to capturing that simple yet elusive sound. Many, many thanks. I already found their Lusitânia Playboys and Vol 2, Quando a Alma Não é Pequena.
